Our annual flash fiction night in November again demonstrated the diversely talented writers in our chapter. More than a dozen people stepped up to the challenge of writing a story no longer than 350 words on the theme of “mysteries in the dark of night.” The stories ranged from hard-boiled and ghost stories to paranormal tales and children’s mystery. Readings were well received, and chocolates were consumed. We laughed, we sighed, we gasped. And each story was over in a flash, leaving plenty of food for thought and a yearning to hear more.
