We had a large turnout at our February meeting to celebrate the life of Sisters in Crime member and former treasurer Waverly Fitzgerald and the publication of her book, HARD RAIN.
Curt Colbert and Waverly’s daughter, Shaw Elizaveta, read from parallel novels Curt and Waverly wrote, set in 1999 – Waverly’s Hard Rain and Curt’s All Along the Watchtower.
There was a display of books Waverly had written over the years. Books sold at the event got a “paw print” signature created for the chihuahua series that Waverly and Curt wrote together as Waverly Curtis.
People were able to buy books, eat cake and pay their respects to Shaw. It was a heartwarming farewell to someone who will be missed by so many.
