Sisters in Crime National
Sisters in Crime was established in 1986 to promote the development of women crime writers. Today there are over 4,200 members in more than 50 regional chapters in the United States and Canada. Members include authors, librarians, readers, editors, publishers, agents and booksellers—anyone with a passion for the mystery genre. It also includes “misters,” although the name has not been changed to reflect this. Local chapter members must be members of National. National supports individual members and local chapters by offering resources such as educational opportunities, scholarships, grants, discounts and a myriad of networking possibilities.
