CATRIONA MCPHERSON, our former president of SinC national, will read from her latest book, Scot and Soda, at Third Place Books/Lake Forest Park on Sunday, March 24th, at 6 pm. She’s looking forward to meeting Puget Sound SinC members, so please come!

PS-SinC at Left Coast Crime: ALICE K. BOATWRIGHT, WAVERLY FITZGERALD, LAURIE ROCKENBECK, MARTY WINGATE, and JAMES W. ZISKIN will be participating in the Left Coast Crime Conference on March 28–31 in Vancouver, B.C.  All will be speaking on panels at the conference. 

PS-SinC at Malice Domestic: LESLIE BUDEWITZ, MARTY WINGATE, and JAMES W. ZISKIN will all be participating in this conference focused on the traditional mystery on May 3–5 in Bethesda, MD.

ALICE K. BOATWRIGHT talked to students in Stanford University’s Continuing Studies Creative Writing Program about setting as a foil for character and action on February 14th.  She will also be on a Left Coast Crime panel on “International Settings” on Friday, March 29th, at 4 pm.

CURT COLBERT will also be a panelist at our Saturday, April 27th, workshop on “Heroes, Villains, and Victims: The Eternal Triangle”.

MARTHA CRITES will moderate the panel on book marketing at our Thursday, March 14th meeting.

WAVERLY FITZGERALD will be on a Left Coast Crime panel about pet-themed mysteries Saturday, Mar 30th,  at 4 pm, and is co-hosting a table at the Saturday banquet with Mary Lee Ashford, one half of the writing duo of Sparkle Abbey, who write the hilarious Pampered Pet series.

ERICA MINER recently returned from a visit to San Francisco Opera, where she had full access to the company archives to research her next novel in her ‘operatic mystery’ series.

CANDACE ROBB signed copies of her new book, A Murdered Peace, at the Edmonds Bookshop in Edmonds, WA on Saturday, March 2nd. She will also be a panelist at our Saturday, April 27th workshop  on “Heroes, Villains, and Victims: The Eternal Triangle

LAURIE ROCKENBECK will be on the Left Coast Crime panel “Writing in the #metoo Era” on Saturday, March 30th at 11 a.m. 

SANDRA TERHUNE BICKLER and her husband Steve will team-teach “Partners in Crime: Police Practices for Writers” on Saturday, July 13th, 1-5 pm at The Barn on Bainbridge Island. Sandy and Steve each bring more than 20 years of experience with the Santa Monica Police Department to this comprehensive introduction to law enforcement for writers.

MARTY WINGATE’s forthcoming book, Bodies in the Library  (Berkley, October 2019), is now available for pre-order. It is the first in her new First Edition Library series. She will be on the Left Coast Crime panel on “Keeping a Series Alive” on Saturday, March 30th at 4 pm.

JAMES W. ZISKIN’s A Stone’s Throw has been nominated for a Lefty Award for Best Mystery Novel. The winners will be announced at this month’s Left Coast Crime conference in Vancouver, B.C.
